2. Click Tools on the menu bar. 3. Click Accounts in the Tools menu. 4. Click Add. 5. Click Mail in the Internet Accounts box. 6. Complete the following fields in the Internet Connection Wizard window:
a. Display Name - The name that will display on an e-mail sent using this profile.
7. Click FINISHED on the Internet Accounts box.
b. E-mail Address - The e-mail address that will display on an e-mail sent using this profile. c. Incoming Mail Server - The mail server from which e-mail for this profile is to be retrieved. ( mail.example.com ) d. Outgoing Mail Server - The mail server through which e-mail sent using this profile will go. You may use your ISP's outgoing mail server, or your IMail server, which is the same as your incoming mail server. (mail.example.com) e. Account Name ( full email address ) a. The account on your IMail server you wish this profile to retrieve. f. Password - The password for the above account. g. Select my server requires authentication ( use this option if the out going mail server is set to example.com ) Netscape Messenger v4.0x
2. Click Edit on the menu bar. 3. Click Preferences in the Edit menu. 4. Click Identity under the Mail & Newsgroups section of the Preferences window and complete the following fields.
a. Your Name - The name from which any e-mail sent using this profile will display.
5. Click Mail Servers under the Mail & Newsgroups section of the Preferences box, then click Edit under Incoming Mail Servers.
b. E-mail Address - The e-mail address from which any e-mail sent using this profile will display. 6. Complete the following fields in the Mail Server Properties Box:
a. Server Name - The mail server from which e-mail is to be retrieved. For example: mail.example.com
7. Click OK to return to the Preferences window.
b. Server Type - Use the POP3 protocol. Do not change the server type to anything besides POP3. c. User Name - username%example.com (Be sure to use a % in place of the @ symbol) 8. Complete the following fields under Outgoing Mail Server. a. Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server – mail.example.com.
b. Outgoing Mail Server User Name - Type server name. (I.E., username%example.com) c. Click OK to close the Preferences window. Netscape Communicator v.4.5+
2. Open the Mail & Newsgroups section and click Mail Servers.
a. Outgoing Mail Server: "mail.example.com"
3. Configure Pop Server
b. Click Add to add a new POP Server
a. Server Name: "mail.example.com"
4. Click OK to return to the Preferences window.
b. Server Type: select POP3 Server. c. User Name: username%example.com 5. Complete the following fields under Outgoing Mail Server.
a. Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server – mail.example.com.
6. Click Identity in left column.
b. Outgoing Mail Server User Name - Type server name. (I.E., username%example.com) c. Click OK to close the Preferences window. d. (Be sure to use a % in place of the @ symbol)
a. Your Name: your name
b. E-mail Address: the e-mail address for the POP mailbox c. Reply-to Address: your e-mail address All other settings are optional. Choosing Messenger Mailbox from the Communicator menu will open the part of Netscape that allows you to read and send mail. Unfortunately, Netscape Messenger does not easily support retrieval of multiple e-mail accounts for POP3 mail servers. To retrieve mail from multiple accounts, you will need to setup additional user profiles using the User Profile Manager supplied with Netscape. See your Netscape documentation for more information. |
